In this project children will learn about:

* Materials that are shiny and materials that are not

* Materials that reflect light and those that do not

* The properties of man-made and natural materials in particular those that shine, glitter, twinkle, glow and reflect

* Making shadows using a light source

* Fire safety and rules to keep safe indoors and outdoors

* Different sources of light and how light is important in a range of different celebrations including

* Christmas

* Recognise and name 2D shapes and their properties

Welsh in the Foundation Phase

I Spy - 'I-Spy' activities asks children to identify pictures that start with d, b, h, p or m. Sounds are used to indicate when children have made a correct or incorrect choice.

Letter Match - Children can sort words depending on which letter they begin with. Activities focus on commonly confused letters such and b and d.

Letters - Activities that involve recognising letters, matching letters and selecting consonants for use at the beginning of tree letter words. Familiar Hoobs characters are a part of each game.

Foundation Phase - This website contains activities to support learning in a range of subject areas for children 5-8.

Bob the Builder - This site is based on the 'Bob the Builder' television programme. It contains interactive activities to help develop positional language, direction, matching, counting and problem solving skills.

Planed Plant Bach.A selection of numeracy and literacy games in both Welsh and English based on S4C Welsh language programmes for Early Years. Suitable for both Welsh first language and new Welsh learners. Welsh Bafta awards winner 2008.
